CHII is conceived as a concerted, multi-phase business organization, with operations at each stage of the commercial hemp industry: Genetic research to define and improve strains; Cellular and molecular products research, to identify and produce new and replacement products from various fractions of the hemp plant; a research farm and contracted production farms, which grow proprietary strains of organically farmed viable seed of climate-adapted varieties for fiber, food, and oil production, and which conduct research on improving and adapting organic farming methods; a processing plant on the home-farm, which performs the primary post-production processing of fiber, hurds, food seed, oil seed, and roughage-recycling (conversion of "waste" parts of the harvested crop, such as leaves in a fuel-producing biodigester); an American distribution partner, which imports and wholesales to US retailers all of the commercial products developed and manufactured by CHII; a Canadian partner business that manufactures/processes a diverse line of food products; contracts with client farmers to grow large crops of our strains of viable seed; and educational opportunities for the general public, college students, and eventually for high school students.
